The water inlet problem of the oil and gas barrel of the screw air compressor

The oil and gas separation barrel of the screw air compressor mainly separates the compressed air from the lubricating oil, so that the compressed air is cleaner and the lubricating oil can be reused. The oil and gas separation barrel (incoming) water is a common phenomenon, so what is the reason for it entering the water? Summarized as follows:

(1) There is a check valve on the outlet pipe of the screw air compressor. The high temperature and high pressure moist air is discharged through the exhaust valve of the screw air compressor, and still carries some oil and water components after passing through the after-cooler. Although the secondary and tertiary interstage coolers and final stage coolers of the screw air compressor are equipped with gas-water separators to separate the moisture generated during the compression process, the actual operation effect is not ideal.

Due to the long-term shutdown of the screw air compressor, the moisture generated by the exhaust gas accumulates around the pipeline and the check valve, causing the moisture to return to the interior of the chassis, and the moisture content of the lubricating oil gradually increases, resulting in the high-pressure screw air compressor oil level alarm and failure shutdown.

When the outlet pipe of the screw air compressor was removed, it was found that milky white liquid flowed out of the pipe, indicating that the moisture in the exhaust of the screw air compressor was seriously exceeding the standard.

(2) According to the operating requirements of the screw air compressor, the screw air compressor should have a small operating time to prevent the formation of condensed water, which will cause the cylinder valve plate and frame parts to rust. A buildup of condensation in the crankcase may cause incorrect oil level readings.

Their coexistence causes the oil to deteriorate rapidly. The minimum running time is generally not less than 10 minutes, which should be enough to heat the screw air compressor to vaporize the condensed moisture.
