Solve this problem when the screw air compressor exhaust contains oil:
1. Damage to the oil-gas separation core
During the operation of the screw air compressor, if the oil separation core is damaged, broken, or perforated, the oil-gas separation function is lost. In other words, the mixed gas and the exhaust pipe of the compressor are directly connected, so a large amount of oil is not separated and will be discharged from the body together with the gas, resulting in oil-containing failure during use.
Solution: Damage to the oil-gas separation core is a common phenomenon. Therefore, the equipment should be checked before the operation of the screw compressor, the operating procedures should be strictly followed when using it, and the equipment should be regularly maintained after use. If the oil separation core is found to be damaged or perforated, it should be replaced in time to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
2. Failure of the oil return pipeline
During the operation of the screw compressor, the oil return pipeline shoulders an important responsibility. A pressure difference will be formed between the oil separation core and the compressor inlet. Under the action of this pressure difference, the oil return pipeline is responsible for returning the oil collected at the bottom of the oil separation core to the compressor for continued use in the next cycle. If the oil return circuit is blocked, broken or installed incorrectly, the accumulated oil at the bottom of the oil separation core cannot be transported back to the compressor, resulting in excessive oil accumulation at the bottom, and this part of the oil will be discharged with the gas. There will be oil during the exhaust process.
Solution: During the operation of the equipment, if the oil return circuit is blocked, it is necessary to check the pressure drop of the separator. If there is no problem with the pressure drop, the oil separation core needs to be cleaned. If the oil separation core is broken, it should be replaced in time.
3. The system pressure control is too low
During the operation of the screw compressor, the system pressure control is too low, which will cause the gas flow rate in the separator to be too fast, and the effect of the separator cannot be fully reflected, which will cause the separator core to enter the next link. The oil content of the internal gas is too high, exceeding its separation range, and the oil carrying failure occurs during the exhaust process of the compressor.
Solution: The operator should be familiar with the control pressure of the equipment. When a problem is found, the system load should be reduced so that the system pressure reaches the rated working pressure.
4. Failure of the small pressure valve
During the operation of the screw compressor, the function of the low pressure valve is to ensure that the system pressure is controlled above the low pressure during operation. If the minimum pressure valve fails, the minimum pressure of the system will not be guaranteed, resulting in oil failure during the exhaust process.
Solution: In actual operation, if the minimum pressure valve is found to be ineffective, replace it, and then work after the replacement is completed.
5. Too much cooling oil is added to the compressor
Before the screw compressor is running, too much cooling oil is added. Then during the operation of the compressor, due to the high oil level, although the separation system separates the oil and gas, the gas will be discharged during the venting process. The cooling oil is mixed with the gas and discharged, causing the oil content in the exhaust gas to be too high, resulting in oil-carrying failure.
Solution: When adding cooling oil to the compressor, you must understand the theoretical value of how much cooling oil should be added to the equipment. The addition of cooling oil should be the responsibility of a dedicated person, and it should generally be controlled below the middle of the sight glass.
6. Unqualified cooling oil quality
Before the compressor is running, unqualified cooling oil is added, or the cooling oil exceeds the applicable time, and the cooling effect cannot be achieved. Then during the operation of the screw compressor, the cooling oil loses its function and cannot cool and separate the oil and gas. Then there will be an oil failure during the exhaust process.
Solution: The addition of cooling oil should be strictly in accordance with the equipment’s requirements for cooling oil, because different equipment has different requirements for cooling oil. The addition time should be recorded after adding, and when the cooling oil reaches the end of its service life, it should be replaced in time. The quality of the added cooling oil should be strictly controlled to prevent the addition of unqualified cooling oil.
